The Montessori program has different needs at each of the three schools.
The Montessori Resource Committee (MRC), which consists of primary and intermediate parents at each location, supports these unique needs by:
The funds to support each school's MRC are generated through the annual adult social, donations and one to two school-based fundraisers per year.
The MRC requires one to two people at each school to be the committee chair(s) and be the teachers' main contacts for communication purposes. The chairs then disseminate volunteer needs to parents who are interested in helping with the above jobs.
Ultimately, meetings are held every couple of months throughout the school year. If teachers or principals are required at a particular meeting, it should be scheduled after school at a convenient time to suit their schedules. The MRC chairs update the SMS-PAC Liaison of activities for reports given at PAC, SMS and LLC (district) meetings.

The Montessori Resource Committee (MRC), which consists of primary and intermediate parents at each location, supports these unique needs by:
- Material Making (i.e. photocopying, laminating, cutting) for the teachers
- Assisting the teachers in the classroom, if requested
- Helping teachers maintain a list of Montessori manipulatives to be purchased during the school year and a "wish list" for future needs/replacements
- Determining with the principal and school liaisons whether school funds or SMS funds are purchasing the items
- Maintaining an inventory list of Montessori manipulatives in each classroom for insurance purposes
- Organizing a storage area of Montessori manipulatives and resources that are not currently being used
- Organizing one or two school-based fundraisers per year (Past Examples: Purdys, samosas, organic coffee/tea)
- Distributing communication to Montessori parents via email/flyers with the approval of principal(s)
- Researching ideas for peace education, outdoor education and field studies
