About Surrey Montessori Society

The Surrey Montessori Society (SMS) is a not-for-profit association in British Columbia, Canada, that supports the Montessori K – 7 Choice programs in the Surrey public school district.
Formed in 1981, the SMS membership consists of parents, caregivers and supporters who believe all children deserve access to the Montessori Method of teaching and philosophy.
Surrey's publicly-funded Montessori Choice program is currently at Douglas Elementary, Latimer Road Elementary, and Mountainview Montessori.

How To EnrolL in the Montessori Public Choice Program

- Kindergarten: Please visit Kindergarten Choice Lottery for the application process. The Virtual Parent Information Meeting for all Surrey schools is held in January. Registration for your child's catchment school begins in early January.
- The Online application for the Montessori opens late January and ends early February. The random lottery draws take place in February/March. Results will be emailed to applicants.
- Grades 1-7: To register students in Grades 1-7, please contact the school directly.
SMS Annual Adult Social Fundraiser

The SMS Annual Adult Social fundraiser is a social evening where all our Montessori parents, friends, and teachers can enjoy an evening out, while raising money for the program. It features dinner, beverages, a silent auction, a 50-50 draw, and door prizes.
